The 1950 US Federal Census Release

On April 1, 1950, the National Archives will release the 1950 US Census.

These decennial census records remain confidential for 72 years for privacy protection. On April 1, 2022, 72 years later, the results of the 1950 US census will become available.

US Census records from 1790 to 1940 are available. They provide a wealth of information on American families. You can easily access digitized and indexed images of the census on genealogical websites like Ancestry.com, FamilySearch.org, and MyHeritage.com.
